Ryan Hall was built in 1945 and named for Rev. James Hugh Ryan, the Rector who first admitted women to the University. Fittingly, Ryan Hall was the home of the first female residential students at the University. Rev. Ryan began at the University as a philosophy professor in 1922, then Rector (1928-1935), and later Bishop (1935-1945) and Archbishop (1945-1947) of Omaha. The interior finishes in Ryan Hall were most recently updated in 2010. Ryan Hall is home to approximately 176 freshman students.

Making Ryan Your "Home Away From Home"
Students are encouraged to decorate their room to reflect individual style and personality! Housing Services has partnered with a few vendors to help make the decorating, planning, and packing process fun and easy! Students are also encouraged to use the printable packing list to make sure they bring everything they might need (and leave prohibited items at home).
Minifridge with Microwave Rentals: Students can rent the unit directly from Housing Services! The unit will be delivered to your room before you even arrive on-campus.
Linen Program: Select your style and have a linen package shipped directly to campus! With over 40 Value Pak combinations, students can create their room style to include bedding towels, storage bins, accent pillows, and more!
Decorative Carpets: The majority of residence hall rooms on-campus are not carpeted. Some students find a small area rug or carpet brings a sense of home to their room.
