Job Description
Primary duties include assisting the Housing Services staff in responding to student concerns regarding the residence halls; repairing or replacing damaged furniture; escorting vendors through various halls; maintaining inventory control; developing a working knowledge of university and community resources; assisting with annual activities such as hall closing and opening; providing administrative support to the office and other duties as assigned. The position involves heavy lifting on a daily basis.
Skills
Knowledge of the mission of the office, knowledge of University policies and procedures, ability to maintain confidentiality (essential to job), heavy lifting, good interpersonal skills, must be dependable, cheerful, and able to work with a diverse population (students, visitors and administrators).
Compensation & Hours
Approximately 6-10 hours a week during the academic year, 20-25 hours during the summer. Normal business hours are from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday; specific times TBD during business hours based on availability and need. Summer business hours are from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Thursday and 9:00 am - noon on Fridays.
