The Catholic University of America is a residential campus and we strongly believe in the benefits that on-campus living has to offer our students in terms of academic success, personal development and involvement within the CUA campus community.

 As is the case on many residential campuses, the number of students who request to live on-campus can temporarily be greater than available housing space. When this occurs, students are assigned to extended housing accommodations until other spaces become available.

  • What does extended housing mean?

    Extended housing means that some end rooms in Centennial Village (CV), have been tripled to comfortably accommodate an additional roommate.These rooms have more space than other CV rooms due to the sinks being in the bathroom rather than the bedroom. No more than five students will share a bathroom. Students will be invited to select from floor plans that include a variety of loft, bunk bed, and standard bed room layouts.

  • Who will be assigned to extended housing?

    CV extended housing assignments were based on the date the housing application was received.  This includes students who submitted close to, on, and after the priority deadline of May 15.

  • What will I be billed for my extended housing assignment?

    Students who begin the fall semester in an extended housing assignment in Centennial Village will receive a discounted room rate for the entire fall semester. These charges will be available in MyHousing and on the student's account.

  • Will I have the opportunity to move?

    Housing Services expects a limited number of spaces to become available prior to Orientation and throughout the fall semester. We will offer students in extended housing a permanent room assignment in the order the housing applications were received.

  • What do rooms in extended housing look like?

    Students assigned to extended housing rooms will be invited to view different layouts designed for these rooms. Once you and your roommates have decided on which room layout option will best fit your plans, please follow the instructions in your email and submit the layout form by Friday, July 21st at 12:00 PM. We will pre-set your room so that when you arrive in August your room is ready. Layout options for extended hosuing are available here.
