Summer Housing Information
In order to be eligible for a summer on-campus assignment through the Office of Housing Services, individuals must be a current academic year Catholic University student, a 2019 Catholic University graduate, or a visiting college student enrolled in summer courses at Catholic University. For the time period from May 12 through August 4, current Catholic University students do not need to be enrolled in summer classes in order to be eligible for summer housing. This is a great opportunity for Catholic University students to pursue internships and other career opportunities in the D.C. metro area during the summer months.
Catholic University students who successfully complete 3 credits are eligible for a 30% reduction in your total housing costs. Catholic University students who successfully complete 6 or more credits are eligible for a 50% reduction in your total housing costs. Discounts are applied in August after the completion of all summer courses. Students are responsible for the full cost of housing and will be issued a refund.
Summer Housing Dates
On-campus housing is available from May 19 through August 4 for Catholic University students. On-campus housing is available during the transition period from May 12 through May 19 for Catholic University students who have a spring 2019 assignment and a summer assignment beginning on May 19th. Current residents who want to request Spring-to-Summer transition housing for this week may do so by completing the online request form.
On-campus housing is not generally available between August 4 through August 24. Students will be expected to vacate their summer assignment by 12:00 pm on August 4. However, students who are summer residents until August 4 and have a confirmed fall housing assignment are eligible for fall transition housing from August 4 through August 24 by completing the online request form for Summer-to-Fall Transition Housing.
Catholic University students enrolled in a summer course ending on August 17th who do not have a Fall room assignment will be permitted to remain in summer housing until Sunday, August 18th at 12:00 p.m. Students May be required to move to a new summer room assignment after August 4th to accommodate summer operations and preparing the residence halls for the fall semester. Students who will need this extended stay options must complete the Summer-to-Fall Transition online request form.
Summer Housing Rates
All Catholic University students seeking an on-campus assignment will reside in a suite-style residence. In Opus Hall each five-person suite contains three single rooms and one double room; a shared living area; a bathroom; hard-wired data, and cable TV connection provided in each bedroom and in the living area. The building also has wireless internet access. Floors 2 - 7 have a centrally located lounge, dining, and kitchen area. The ground floor has smaller kitchen facilities on each wing with a large main lounge, study, laundry, and vending.

To Apply for Housing
Please complete the Summer Housing Application through MyHousing, via Cardinal Students (available March 18th). Students are able to request roommates through the application process.

Housing Services will begin processing assignments in mid-April. The priority housing application date is April 15; after this date it will become more difficult to honor roommate and room type preferences. In order to best prepare for your arrival, all applications should be received at least three business days before you wish to check-in to your on-campus assignment.
Once an assignment is made students may utilize MyHousing, to see their housing assignment, dining plan, roommates, mailbox, and current housing-related billing charges.
Check-In & Check-Out Information
Check-in information will be sent via email to each student who receives a summer assignment. Summer housing will begin on Sunday, May 19th at 5:00 pm; which is the earliest available check-in date and time. Summer housing will end on August 4th at 12:00 om; which is the latest any student can remain in their summer assignment unless approval is granted by Housing Services. Students looking to request Summer-to-Fall Transition Housing or Extended Stay should submit the online request form.
